How to Measure for Your Cover

Get the right fit: use our free app (easiest) or follow the steps below.

How to Measure for Your Cover
Easiest way

Measure with the EZ Snap app

Use your phone to measure—no tape measure needed. Android & iOS. Then order from the app or here.

How the in-app measurement works

This is the fastest way to get accurate measurements. Place an A4 sheet (8¼" × 11 11/16") or a payment card (2⅛" × 3⅜") in the same photo as your heater, then follow these steps:

Step 1Choose a reference object

1) Choose a reference object

Select A4 paper or the back of a payment card inside the app. This sets the measurement scale.

Step 2Take or select a photo

2) Take or select a photo

Make sure the heater and your reference object are both visible in the same shot.

Step 3Mark the 4 corners

3) Mark the 4 corners

Drag the four points to fit the reference object perfectly (a clean rectangle gives best results).

Step 4Measure length and height

4) Measure length & height

Use the length and height tools, and adjust scale anytime with Edit scale.

Or measure by hand

What you'll need

Tape measure, pencil and paper (or our app).

1
Step 1

Remove the existing cover (if any)

Take off the end caps and front panel of your current baseboard heater so you can see the heating element. This gives you a clear view for accurate measurements.

Tip: If there’s no cover yet, measure the heater unit itself—length and height of the front face.

2 Measure the length
Step 2

Measure the length

Measure from one end to the other along the front face of the heater, in a straight line. Record the length in inches.

You’ll use this when building your kit or choosing panel lengths. We offer panels in various lengths; you can also use couplers to join sections for longer runs.

3 Measure the height
Step 3

Measure the height

Measure from the finished floor to the top of the heater (or top of the front face). Record in inches.

Our sizes: We offer 7½" and 9½" cover heights. Choose the size that matches or slightly exceeds your measurement. Leave about ¼" clearance for airflow if needed.

Disclaimer: Measure the height of each individual heater separately, as some heaters may require a 7.5" cover while others may require a 9.5" cover.

4 Note corners and ends
Step 4

Note corners and ends

Count inside corners, outside corners, and end capsyou need. This determines how many end caps, corner pieces, and couplers to add in Build Your Own Kitor in Parts & Accessories.
